New Year's Day in Korea.

Yesterday Korea was January 1 in the lunar calendar.  On the first morning of the New Year, families gather to eat the rice cake soup. So mothers in Korea prepare food for their families. Most food preparations are centered on mother-in-law. My husband has no mother. There was a grandmother on behalf of that role. By the way, last fall, my husband's grandmother died. So I had to prepare food by myself.  It was a day when I could feel the vacancy of my husband's grandmother. I cooked hard. But it was not tasty. I must do it alone in the future. As the years go by, the taste of food will improve.

On the first day of the year 2018, I thought of my husband grandmother.
